eSIM help

When does my eSIM plan start?

Your plan’s days start when the eSIM first connects to a network in your destination – not when you buy it, and not when you install it.

From buying to the last day

  1. You buy the plan. We send the QR code as soon as the eSIM is ready. Nothing has started.
  2. You install the eSIM. Do it at home on Wi-Fi, a few days before you go. Nothing has started.
  3. It connects in your destination. The first connection to a partner network starts the plan’s days.
  4. The plan ends when the days run out or the data is used up, whichever comes first.

Install it in time

You must install the eSIM within 180 days of buying it.

How days are counted

A plan day is 24 hours from the first connection, not a calendar day: a 7-day plan that first connects at 18:00 on Monday runs until 18:00 the following Monday. The plan details show the number of days before you buy.

If the eSIM connects early

Near a border, the eSIM can pick up a network of your destination before you arrive, and the plan starts then. Keep the Niceway line switched off until you land. With a regional plan, the first connection in any country it covers starts the days.

When the plan ends

When the days or the data run out, the eSIM stops connecting. To keep using data, see Add data to an eSIM.
