1.Who issues the cards
1.1Niceway virtual cards are prepaid Visa and Mastercard cards issued by a licensed partner card issuer in Singapore, under licence from Visa or Mastercard (the card issuer).
1.2Al Mashrab Welthandel General Trading LLC is the programme manager: it runs your Niceway account, sells the cards, takes payment of the issue price and top-ups, passes your instructions to the card issuer and provides support. Niceway is not a bank.
2.The cards
2.1There are three cards: the Subscriptions card (Mastercard), the Travel card (Visa) and the Premium card (Visa). All of them are in US dollars and valid for 2 years.
2.2What each card pays for differs, for example Apple Pay, Google Pay, shop terminals and some AI tools. Check the virtual cards page before you choose.
2.3Card payments are not open yet, so cards cannot be issued today. You can compare the cards and create your account now.
3.Your agreement with the issuer
3.1When you issue a card, you accept the card issuer’s cardholder terms. They are shown in your account before you pay the issue price, and they govern the card, its balance and your payments.
3.2Where these terms and the cardholder terms differ about the card itself, the cardholder terms apply.
4.Who can get a card
4.1You must be 18 or over and live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.
4.2You sign up with your email and issue a card online, without documents. We or the card issuer ask for an identity document when the law requires it or a payment looks unusual. See identity checks.
4.3You can hold up to 10 cards in one account, each with its own balance.
5.Topping up and spending
5.1A prepaid card can only spend money you have topped up. There is no credit and no overdraft.
5.2You top up in euros, pounds or US dollars, from €10, £10 or $10. The top-up fee includes the conversion to US dollars: 3.9% on Subscriptions and Travel, 2.9% on Premium. Before you confirm, you see the fee and the dollars that land on the card.
5.3If you pay a shop in another currency, Visa or Mastercard converts the amount at its own rate. Niceway adds no fee on top.
5.4One payment can be up to $1,000 on Subscriptions, $5,000 on Travel and $10,000 on Premium. All fees and limits are on our fees and limits page.
6.Keeping your card safe
6.1The full card number and security code are shown only after you sign in, and never sent by email.
6.2When a shop uses 3-D Secure, the confirmation code appears in your Niceway account before the payment goes through.
6.3You can freeze the card at any time. A frozen card declines every payment until you unfreeze it.
6.4If you think someone else has used your card, freeze it and tell us straight away at [email protected].
7.How your money is held
7.1Card balances are held by the card issuer. A prepaid card balance is not a bank deposit and is not covered by a deposit guarantee scheme.
8.Closing a card
8.1You can close a card at any time, free of charge. Any balance left on it moves to your Niceway account balance, where it can pay for another card or a top-up.
8.2The balance is for spending with Niceway cards and cannot be paid out to a bank account, so top up only what you plan to spend.
8.3How to withdraw from the card contract, and how to complain about a card payment, is explained in the right of withdrawal and the complaints procedure.
