Your eSIM connects to a partner network in Colombia. The networks for each plan are confirmed at checkout.
Colombia’s highlights are spread out – Bogotá, Medellín, the Coffee Region and the Caribbean coast – and most travellers link them by short flights and long bus rides. Ride-hailing apps and WhatsApp are how you arrange transport and tours, and data helps you check routes after dark.
Coverage is good in the big cities and along the Caribbean coast. In Tayrona National Park, on the trek to the Lost City and in rural parts of the Coffee Region the signal fades or disappears.
Example for a 10 GB, 30-day plan. Nothing is used until the eSIM connects in Colombia.
The QR code arrives straight away. The 30 days have not started.
Install on Wi-Fi at home. Keep it switched off until you land.
The 30 days start from the first connection to a partner network.
Whichever comes first. For more data, buy another plan.
You need Wi-Fi and the QR code from your email or your account. Menu names differ slightly between phone models.
Full install guide with picturesOpen Settings, then Mobile Service (or Mobile Data).
Tap Add eSIM, then Use QR Code, and scan the code from your email or account.
Label the new line Niceway Colombia and choose it for Mobile Data only.
Leave the line switched off until you land. Turn on Data Roaming for it in Colombia.
Open Settings, then Network and internet (Samsung: Connections).
Tap SIMs, then Add eSIM or Download a SIM, and scan the QR code.
Set the eSIM as the SIM for Mobile data. Keep your usual SIM for calls.
When you land, switch the eSIM on and turn on Roaming for it.
Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. If it was bought from a mobile network on contract, ask them to unlock it before you travel.
Near the park entrances you may have signal; on the beaches deeper in Tayrona and on the Lost City trek it is mostly absent. Let your guesthouse know your plans before you go.
Very. Maps, ride-hailing and messages to hosts and tour companies all run on data, and moving around with a working phone is simpler than relying on café Wi-Fi.
A Colombia plan works only in Colombia. For a trip that continues to Panama or Ecuador, a Latin America regional plan lists both before you pay.
Yes. The plan starts when the eSIM first connects in Colombia. Install it within 180 days of buying.
