Your eSIM connects to a partner network in Canada. The networks for each plan are confirmed at checkout.
Canada is huge, and most of its land has no mobile coverage at all – but most Canadians, and almost every visitor, stay close to the areas that do. Cities, the Trans-Canada Highway and the main tourist routes are well covered; the north and the backcountry are not.
If you drive the Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper, expect long stretches with no signal. Download maps and park passes before you set off, and use Wi-Fi at visitor centres to check trail conditions.
Example for a 10 GB, 30-day plan. Nothing is used until the eSIM connects in Canada.
The QR code arrives straight away. The 30 days have not started.
Install on Wi-Fi at home. Keep it switched off until you land.
The 30 days start from the first connection to a partner network.
Whichever comes first. For more data, buy another plan.
You need Wi-Fi and the QR code from your email or your account. Menu names differ slightly between phone models.
Full install guide with picturesOpen Settings, then Mobile Service (or Mobile Data).
Tap Add eSIM, then Use QR Code, and scan the code from your email or account.
Label the new line Niceway Canada and choose it for Mobile Data only.
Leave the line switched off until you land. Turn on Data Roaming for it in Canada.
Open Settings, then Network and internet (Samsung: Connections).
Tap SIMs, then Add eSIM or Download a SIM, and scan the QR code.
Set the eSIM as the SIM for Mobile data. Keep your usual SIM for calls.
When you land, switch the eSIM on and turn on Roaming for it.
Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. If it was bought from a mobile network on contract, ask them to unlock it before you travel.
Mostly not. There is little or no coverage between Lake Louise and Jasper, apart from short spots near lodges. Download maps and save your bookings before you leave.
Only near towns. Long-distance trains across Canada pass through long stretches without coverage, so plan to be offline for much of the journey.
A Canada plan works only in Canada. For a trip that crosses the border, a North America regional plan covers Canada, the United States and Mexico on one eSIM.
Yes. The plan starts when the eSIM first connects in Canada. Install it within 180 days of buying.
