Your eSIM connects to a partner network in South Korea and switches if the signal is better on another one. The networks for each plan are confirmed at checkout.
South Korea’s mobile networks are fast and everywhere, and daily life assumes you use them – taxi and delivery apps, translation, and maps for subway systems with hundreds of stations.
One thing surprises visitors: Google Maps shows public transport in Korea but does not give driving or walking directions there. Most travellers install a local map app such as Naver Map, which has an English interface and needs mobile data to work well.
Example for a 10 GB, 30-day plan. Nothing is used until the eSIM connects in South Korea.
The QR code arrives straight away. The 30 days have not started.
Install on Wi-Fi at home. Keep it switched off until you land.
The 30 days start from the first connection to a partner network.
Whichever comes first. For more data, buy another plan.
You need Wi-Fi and the QR code from your email or your account. Menu names differ slightly between phone models.

Leave the line switched off until you land. Turn on Data Roaming for it in South Korea.
Open Settings, then Network and internet (Samsung: Connections).
Tap SIMs, then Add eSIM or Download a SIM, and scan the QR code.
Set the eSIM as the SIM for Mobile data. Keep your usual SIM for calls.
When you land, switch the eSIM on and turn on Roaming for it.
Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. If it was bought from a mobile network on contract, ask them to unlock it before you travel.
Korean rules restrict exporting detailed map data, so Google Maps offers public transport routes but no driving or walking directions. Local apps such as Naver Map fill the gap.
Korean networks cover the KTX high-speed lines and the subway, including stations and tunnels, so you can stay online almost everywhere you travel.
A South Korea plan works only in South Korea. For a trip to both, an Asia regional plan covers Japan and South Korea on one eSIM – the full country list is on the plan before you pay.
Yes. The plan starts when the eSIM first connects in South Korea. Install it within 180 days of buying.
