Your eSIM connects to a partner network in Vietnam and switches if the signal is better on another one. The networks for each plan are confirmed at checkout.
Vietnam is long and thin, and most visitors travel its length by sleeper train, bus or domestic flight, so data on the move matters. Grab is the usual way to order cars and motorbike taxis in the cities, and maps help in the alleys of Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
Coverage is good in cities and along the coast. The mountain loops of Ha Giang and Sa Pa, the caves of Phong Nha and boats in Ha Long Bay can lose signal for stretches, so save maps and bookings offline.

Install on Wi-Fi at home. Keep it switched off until you land.

Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. If it was bought from a mobile network on contract, ask them to unlock it before you travel.
Near the shore and on the busier routes you usually have signal; further out among the islands it can drop for a while. Many boats offer Wi-Fi, but it is often slow.
In the towns along the loop you will have signal, but the passes between them have long gaps. Download offline maps and tell your guesthouse your route.
No. Grab works with your usual number; keep your home SIM switched on for texts so the sign-in code reaches you, and use the eSIM for data.
Yes. The plan starts when the eSIM first connects in Vietnam. Install it within 180 days of buying.
