Your eSIM connects to a partner network in Spain and switches if the signal is better on another one. The networks for each plan are confirmed at checkout.
Visitors from the UK gain most from a plan here. Since Brexit, UK providers set their own charges for using your phone in the EU, and many add a daily fee. A SIM from an EU or EEA country usually roams in Spain at no extra cost under roam-like-at-home rules, so check your own allowance before you buy.
Signal is strong in the cities and along the Mediterranean coast. Inland, the long roads across Castile, Aragon and Extremadura and the passes of the Pyrenees and the Sierra Nevada can lose coverage between towns, so download an offline map before a road trip.
Example for a 10 GB, 30-day plan. Nothing is used until the eSIM connects in Spain.
The QR code arrives straight away. The 30 days have not started.
Install on Wi-Fi at home. Keep it switched off until you land.
The 30 days start from the first connection to a partner network.
Whichever comes first. For more data, buy another plan.
You need Wi-Fi and the QR code from your email or your account. Menu names differ slightly between phone models.

Set the eSIM as the SIM for Mobile data. Keep your usual SIM for calls.
When you land, switch the eSIM on and turn on Roaming for it.
Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. If it was bought from a mobile network on contract, ask them to unlock it before you travel.
They are part of Spain and are served by Spanish networks, so a Spain plan covers them. Signal is good in towns and resorts and thinner on high ground such as Mount Teide on Tenerife.
Not on a Spain plan. Gibraltar and Andorra are outside Spain and run their own mobile networks. If you are crossing over, check the coverage list on a Europe regional plan before you pay.
Often not. Roam-like-at-home rules let a SIM from the EU or EEA use its usual allowance in Spain, within your provider’s fair-use limits. An eSIM helps when that allowance runs short or when your SIM is from outside the EU.
Yes. The plan starts when the eSIM first connects in Spain. Install it within 180 days of buying.
