Your eSIM connects to a partner network in Switzerland and switches if the signal is better on another one. The networks for each plan are confirmed at checkout.
Switzerland is in neither the EU nor the EEA, so roam-like-at-home rules do not apply here. Some EU providers include Switzerland anyway, others charge by the megabyte or by the day – check yours before you rely on it. A local eSIM avoids the question.
Swiss networks cover the valleys, the main passes and most long rail tunnels well. High above the resorts, behind ridges and in deep side valleys the signal can disappear, which matters on a hike: carry an offline map and remember that 112 reaches the emergency services.
Example for a 10 GB, 30-day plan. Nothing is used until the eSIM connects in Switzerland.
The QR code arrives straight away. The 30 days have not started.
Install on Wi-Fi at home. Keep it switched off until you land.
The 30 days start from the first connection to a partner network.

You need Wi-Fi and the QR code from your email or your account. Menu names differ slightly between phone models.
Full install guide with picturesOpen Settings, then Mobile Service (or Mobile Data).
Tap Add eSIM, then Use QR Code, and scan the code from your email or account.
Label the new line Niceway Switzerland and choose it for Mobile Data only.
Leave the line switched off until you land. Turn on Data Roaming for it in Switzerland.
Open Settings, then Network and internet (Samsung: Connections).
Tap SIMs, then Add eSIM or Download a SIM, and scan the QR code.
Set the eSIM as the SIM for Mobile data. Keep your usual SIM for calls.
When you land, switch the eSIM on and turn on Roaming for it.
Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. If it was bought from a mobile network on contract, ask them to unlock it before you travel.
Liechtenstein is a separate country with its own networks, so check the coverage list on the plan. A Europe regional plan that lists Liechtenstein covers both.
The busy tourist routes are generally well covered. In tunnels and on the far side of a ridge the connection can drop for a while, so save tickets before you set off.
For a day trip from France, Germany or Italy, check what your own provider charges for Switzerland first. If it charges by the megabyte, a small 1 GB plan can be the simpler option.
Yes. The plan starts when the eSIM first connects in Switzerland. Install it within 180 days of buying.
