Your eSIM connects to a partner network in the United Arab Emirates. The networks for each plan are confirmed at checkout.
Many travellers meet the UAE on a stopover, and a short plan covers the metro, taxis booked through apps such as Careem and Uber, and maps for cities built around motorways. On longer stays you will use it for deliveries, tickets and bookings that all expect a working connection.
Voice and video calls in some apps, WhatsApp among them, have long been restricted in the UAE, while messaging works. Whether those calls work over a travel eSIM depends on how the plan routes your data, so do not rely on them for anything important.

WhatsApp messages work, but its voice and video calls have long been blocked on UAE networks. Over a travel eSIM they may or may not work, depending on how the plan routes data, so do not count on them for important calls.
