Redeem a Steam Wallet code

Before you redeem

• Check your Steam Wallet currency. The balance next to your account name in the Steam store shows it.
• The card must be in the same currency as your wallet. Steam redeems a code only in the currency it was issued for and refuses it on a wallet in another currency.
• Sign in to the account you want the money on. Steam Wallet money cannot be moved to another account.

Redeem the code

1. Sign in at store.steampowered.com or open the Steam desktop app.
2. Click your account name at the top right and choose Account details.
3. Under Store & Purchase History, choose Redeem a Steam Gift Card or Wallet Code.
4. Paste the code from your order and click Continue.

The amount is added to your Steam Wallet balance. You can spend it on games, software and items in the Steam store, but you cannot withdraw it as cash.

If Steam does not accept the code

• Paste the code rather than typing it, and check there are no extra spaces.
• Read the message from Steam. If it says the code is for another region or currency, it cannot be used on this account.
• If it says the code has already been redeemed, check your Steam Wallet history first: the money may already be there.
