Coverage and networks

Your eSIM connects to a partner network in Singapore and switches if the signal is better on another one. The networks for each plan are confirmed at checkout.

Singapore is compact and well connected, and visitors rarely lose signal. Data is still worth having: the MRT, buses and ride-hailing all lean on apps, and many restaurants and hawker stalls take QR and contactless payments.

Many travellers only pass through on a stopover. A small plan of 1 or 3 GB is usually enough for a day or two between flights, and it starts the moment it connects after you land.

Check your phone first

Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. If it was bought from a mobile network on contract, ask them to unlock it before you travel.

  • Dial *#06#. If you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM.
  • Most iPhones from XR and XS onwards, Google Pixel 3 onwards and Samsung Galaxy S20 onwards support eSIM.

We check it against the list of eSIM phones. Nothing is saved.

Singapore eSIM questions

Is a small plan enough for a stopover?

For a day or two in the city, 1 GB covers maps, messages and a few searches. Changi Airport has free Wi-Fi, so you only need the eSIM once you leave the airport.

Will it work in Johor Bahru or on Bintan?

No. Johor Bahru is in Malaysia, and Bintan and Batam are in Indonesia, so a Singapore plan does not cover them. Add a plan for the country you are crossing into.

Does it work underground on the MRT?

Yes. Singapore’s networks cover MRT stations and tunnels, so you can stay online between stops.

Can I buy the plan now and travel next month?

Yes. The plan starts when the eSIM first connects in Singapore. Install it within 180 days of buying.
